La Marca Well is a sports and wellness lifestyle store based in Chueca, Madrid. Beyond selling products, the brand had a strong editorial vision: they wanted a space where health and wellness experts could share content, and where that content and the store's catalogue could work together seamlessly.

The brief called for a website that merged an online shop with a lifestyle blog where products appeared naturally within relevant articles. A yoga piece would surface yoga apparel and accessories; a nutrition article would feature the right supplements. Content and commerce needed to feel like one thing, not two separate sections bolted together.

I was subcontracted by the agency handling the project. The visual concept was developed in collaboration with another graphic designer, who provided the initial design direction. I translated those designs into a fully functional website, taking complete ownership of development, custom integrations and front-end production.

The core design challenge was creating a visual language that felt equally at home as a retail experience and an editorial platform. The two modes needed to be coherent: a user browsing the blog and a user shopping should feel like they're in the same place.

The content-to-product connection required a custom integration between the blog and WooCommerce, so that editors could tag articles with relevant product categories and the right items would surface automatically in context. This kept the experience feeling curated rather than algorithmic.

The store was also connected to the physical shop's inventory in real time, ensuring online stock always reflected what was actually available in the Chueca location.

To make the platform sustainable for the owners long-term, I built a custom tool that allowed them to upload and publish blog posts easily, without needing technical knowledge. The goal was that once the site launched, they could run it entirely on their own.
Additional custom development included a bespoke banner carousel for the homepage.

The website launched as a fully integrated retail and editorial platform, operational and managed independently by the La Marca Well team. The design was later updated by another team, but the technical architecture and the content-commerce integration model I built remained the foundation of the site.
